Question 458

My work friend and I consulted a tarot reader sometime in January. And although my main purpose was to hear about what the reader thinks the future has in store for me, I also wanted to know one of two things. Would he ever show up? And if so, when?

We were told that the tarot reader was tactful and skilled, but Work Friend was not so much impressed with the reader. I wasn’t, too. We once made fun of her and how she went about the whole psychic thing. I am not saying the lady showed gross incompetence. Or maybe a little. I have once read that fakes will elicit personal information and spin it out into “readings”, and if my memory serves me right it was what she was doing most of the time. But worried that the reading will fail if I keep acting unimpressed, I had toned down from making derisive comments to not saying anything anymore.

On a lighter note, I liked that the tarot did not just address the concerns I had in mind but also the more pressing ones.

Here’s the excerpt of the reading:

ON LOVE LIFE

“How are things with you and your special one”, she asked.

Special one? I could only smirk at this. At that time, though, a foreign guy I met from last year was the closest to being someone I could call my special one. But with a month-long of zero communication between me and him, I told the reader that it was nothing good.

If someone left, another would surely come along.

Aw, very condoling. Thanks?

In two months you will be meeting a guy:

  • Someone who lives far from you—could be a foreigner.

1541 miles. That’s how far Phil and I live apart. And he’s Chinese-Malaysian.

  • Three years older…or much older than the previous guy you dated.

A three-year gap. He’s 27. I’m turning 24 in November. Spot on.

  •  Could be the same person you were with before or a new guy.

New guy, please!

  •  You are more likely to be in a serious relationship with someone.

About time, I guess.

  • The ex(-special someone) will try to keep in touch with you again. I believe he still wants you.

ON TRAVELS

There’s a high chance you will be receiving a travel invite from someone.

Phil and I have talked about this; me going to KL in January.

You will travel with a partner.

We’re going on a trip to Baguio City in November. First trip together. Fingers crossed.

Somebody’s paying a visit.

He is. 67 more days. Hope everything turns out well.

“Why didn’t you tell me this before?” Phil asked, stunned. I could only imagine his jaw dropping to the floor.

“Just ‘cause.”

“So you were like going crazy on 27.4? I mean, me contacting you. Malaysia. 3 years older. I mean, I would freak out if I got this reading beforehand.”

“No, not really. I did not take the reading seriously”. Truth. But I was being hopeful.

Still wonder-struck, Phil suddenly exclaimed “Everything is turning out to be a fairytale. Unless the reader gave you some pretty negative comments after the initial info about this foreign guy, I don’t think you should worry so much.”

Now guess who’s being psychic here. Again. I’m telling you, ladies and gentlemen, guy can sense someone’s anxieties. Mine, for certain.

“After knowing this new info I feel more relaxed. Like it’s destined,” he added.

Like it’s destined. This keeps ringing in my head. Destined. Me and him. Could we really be? Deep hopeful sigh.
